March, you have rushed in on us so quickly! Thank you guys so much for taking the time to check in on our project that is in its blooming stage. As a family, I feel as though winter has been upon us for the past 3 years or so. We have felt the budding process pressing against the surface however, Gods timing rarely lines up with our selfish and impatient desires. Though the dreams I believe are from Him, we are learning to embrace His process above our own. His are much sweeter than we could dream up. The initial writing process of this record is just about done. I have 4 more starts to songs that I am currently fumbling around with which will hopefully be submitted by the end of this week. I am so excited. I have a pretty awesome announcement to share with you guys. We have officially booked our studio musicians for the record. Not only did we book them, we selected a dream team of people that we knew would take this project to an entire new level. When we first began throwing ideas on the table my producer threw out the idea of bringing in a NC community called "The Cageless Birds". This is the community of John & Melissa Helser. I have been marked by the sounds that flow out of this family and to have them pouring their hearts into this record is an absolute dream. Molly Skaggs will be on Piano. Luke Skaggs will be on guitar/aux instrumentation. Ben James will come in and layer some more piano. I have so many feelings inside. Am I worthy of all of this? Are my songs good enough to have such gifted musicians on board? Will these songs meet you all where you are? So many thoughts. However, in the face of insecurity I will stand firm and create with all of my heart. Songs that speak of truth from a place of truth. Songs that dare to walk into new territory of conversation. Songs that tell my story honestly. Once March hits, we will be documenting the entire recording process. We are so beyond excited. We love you guys so much. Thank you for being my family. Thank you for being my record label. Thank you for being my strength and voice. Here we go!
